Home Remedies for Acne
Acne is one of the most common infections affecting most people today and it has a devastating effect on most of them. It can sometimes be very irritating due to the inflammation associated with the disease while the scaling and pimples may affect the self-esteem of most people who have it. The disease can however be treated so as to either reduce its intensity or totally get rid of it. The good news to those affected by the disease is the fact that it can be treated easily at the home using equipment and ingredients that can be prepared easily around the home. So there are so many home remedies for acne which could be made through things that can be cheaply acquired in the local grocery stores.
One of the ways through which one can treat acne is by use of sandalwood paste. This is easily available and can be bought locally. You may choose to make the paste on your own from sandalwood or you may buy already made paste from the store. You may then apply the paste onto your face. Sandal wood has been proven to be effective and will therefore be effective in clearing out acne from your skin.
Nutmeg may also come in handy where one has acne. For maximum effect, it is advisable to grind it with milk. After making the paste, one will have to wash his or her face before applying it carefully. Nutmeg has the effect of reducing the acne scars. This may also be achieved by simply rubbing an orange skin on the area affected by acne or by use of powdered orange skin which should be applied as a paste. Application of tomato juice on the face will also be helpful in treating acne.
Cucumber and lemons may also be used in removing acne. All that one has to do is to get extracts of cucumber juice and then mix it with lemon juice. He or she will then have to apply it gently onto the affected area. This mixture is good for getting relief from acne and when applied over time, may help in getting rid of the disease completely.
Aloe vera has been touted as one of the best home remedies for acne infection. This is so mainly because of the healing properties of aloe vera. Where it is possible to get the aloe plant, one may simply cut one of its leaves on one end and rub it on the face. One may also choose to make a paste out of the fleshy leaves of the aloe plant and then gently apply it on the affected area. Aloe vera pastes may also be found already made in various stores around the country and one may use these too as they are as effective as the raw aloe vera leaves.
Potato is said to have a relatively high concentration of various minerals including: phosphorus, chlorine, sulphur and potassium. These substances make it a very good home remedy to acne. All one has o do is to get its juice, or rather its paste, and then apply it on his or her face. It is however advisable that one should use raw potato as it has the highest concentration of these minerals.
Neem is another ingredient that may be used in coming up with the perfect acne home remedy. Neem, whether in powder form or in oil form, is very effective in getting rid of acne scars. Boiling neem leaves in water and exposing the affected area to the steam has also proven to be effective in getting rid of acne.
Washing ones face is one of the ways through which acne inflammation can be reduced; however, doing it with coconut water has proven to be quite effective in reducing inflammation which has been caused by acne. This may also be achieved by the use of coriander juice, which should be mixed with lemon juice for maximum effect.
When using fresh leaves of fenugreek, it is advisable to leave the paste overnight for better results. The paste may then be washed off in the morning when most of the minerals with healing properties have been absorbed in the skin.
